The picture above is a 1931-32 Checker Model M Taxicab originally from New York City, that was converted Edgewood Hose Company. The Edgewood Hose Company received a Checker from Rheinhold Vogel Sr of New York.   From 1932 to 1934, the neighbors reconstructed the Checker into a chemical fire fighting truck, which was like a soda-acid extinguisher. The Checker was replaced in 1941 by a brand new Dodge Pumper.
