Chevrolet 350 engine with turbo 400 automatic transmission. American car built by Checker Motors Corporation in Kalamazoo Michigan. Cars were manufactured until 1984. Styled after 1955 Chevrolet except with limousine type backseat with huge legroom and opera window. They were primarily sold as taxicabs. This car was never a taxi cab and was acquired directly from the factory, used in the movie, and bought by myself and my father. Front right door needs some minor work to open from inside and to operate window. Paint is 17 years old and needs some minor repair. Car is 100% original. Minor restoration in the year 2000 included new windshield, bodywork, rubber, and paint. Engine rebuilt at 140,000 miles. Transmission rebuilt at 150,000 miles. Breaks my heart to part with this car but I recently moved to a town house and have nowhere to park it. It is currently parked at my fathers house in Simi Valley. It was my daily driver in the late 1970s and I had driven it every week since until the beginning of 2017. I drive it on occasion now when I visit my father. Serious buyers only.
