This is one of the rarest Checker’s around, it’s a 50 year old Checker Anniversary gold edition.  Checker Cab Manufacturing was founded in 1922, to celebrate its 50th anniversary Checker offered a anniversary edition.  In the past the only other consumer market sub model offered was the “Texan”.

This particular model was owned by former Checker head of procurement Steve Wilson and president of the Checker Car Club of America.  Steve retired from Checker in the early 1990’s.  Steve passed away in 1997, the car was then purchased by Steve’s friend and former Checker employee Dave Eldridge.

As a member of the Checker Car Club of America Dave proudly owned and displayed this station wagon. He was an active member of the Host Committee presenting the national Checker Show at Gilmore Car Museum every two years.

This Checker has been pampered since new, a special car, it needs to find a special new home
