Low mileage (76K), two-owner car that is registered and running, but has major rust problems and needs full restoration.
I still have the first owner’s log books and paperwork from the 1960s. Car is very original, no modifications. Interior is excellent! No rips, splits or stains on upholstery; door panels look great. Back seat has spent much of its life folded down and looks almost new. All glass good. Side trim is perfect. Vintage CB radio installed (doesn’t transmit). Chevy 283 V8 starts up and runs fine. New water pump installed recently. Auto transmission. Two new tires in front (less than 1,000 miles); rear tires are good. I also have a pair of snow tires on extra rims that go with the car.
BOTTOM LINE: This is a compete, running, currently registered rare Checker that’s fun to drive and will make a great restoration or rod project for someone able and willing to deal with significant body rust issues. Car is located in Kentucky, and buyer will have to pick up (bring a trailer) or arrange shipment.
