Once in a lifetime chance to own a 1949 Checker Model A3. This is the only known survivor that exists in the entire world.  The cars was designed by Raymond Dietrich and engineered by Herbert Snow, two known builders of the classics.  The car is 99.5% complete, no missing parts.  Interior seats have been reupholstered. All glass and rubber has been replaced.  Engine turns,  installed 1963 Continental 226 Overhead Valve Engine.  Needs clutch installed and wiring and it should be ready to roll.  Great tires on Studebaker rims.  Included in the action is a complete Checker wiring kit from Narragansett Electric  (now closed).   Only parts needed to complete is an interior headliner and windlace.  A full Checker Model A4 Taxicab partition has been installed.  Also included is the standard Checker bench seat (original).  In addition to the A3, also included in the deal is a 1952 Checker Model A4 parts cars.  Many valuable and rare parts can still be harvested, including the jump seats…should the buyer desire to add the seats to the A3.  Please note that all mechanical parts for this car are readily available as Checker were typically parts bin cars.  The only OEM content is the frame and body.

Solid frame on the former OKC car.  The rockers need to be built back up as well as the lower rocker pontoons (originals will be included for metal rework).  All surface rust has been removed and treated.  All four fenders, hood and decklid were sandblasted and built back up.

The current color scheme is based on a New York City Bell Transportation.  When competed this is an excellent candidate for movie work or weddings.  Too many projects, need to sell

Good luck bidding.  Being sold as is, where is.
