Hello Everyone, The time has come for me to part company with my 1966 Checker Marathon. This one was never a taxi, always a private car, so no jump seats. Runs VERY well, Chevy 327, Borg Warner 4 spd auto, power drum brakes, Aircon (not blowing cold). Pics attached, and they show all of the warts. Will need body work to front inner rockers, front passenger side floor, bottoms of front fenders behind wheels, roof above the windshield and the cowl below it, rear panel under trunk lid, roof gutter areas. There is bubbling on the front edge of the hood and little bit on the corners of the doors. Trunk floor is solid. Door bottoms are surface rust, but very solid. Frame and running gear excellent. Interior is original except front seat, probably time to replace all of it. Has the original (unobtanium) horn ring, 2 full sets of spare hub caps, original intake manifold, carb and air cleaner, spare rear light bezels. Oh, and a full set of taxi decals.
I detect the perfume eau de gasoline now and then, but have never seen an actual drip anywhere. Not sure what the cause is.
Car is with me in Florida, Sun City Center, Clear PA title in my name.
I’d like to see $4800.00.
I’m putting this on the Checker facebook pages for a few days before anywhere else – would rather see it go to folks with interest and some knowledge.
